I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good dictionary, so to speak, on Hatha Yoga under the Iyengar method. I seem to recall “Jim and His Karma” recommending a particular book but I cannot seem to find that post. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
I recently bought “Light on Yoga” by B.K.S iyengar. I don’t know if this is the best book on hatha yoga. But I liked the book very much. Please keep in mind that I am a beginner in hatha yoga. But there are some good reviews written on amazon.com by some experienced folks for this book. Check out the reviews of this book on the following amazon.com link.

Another book that is on my wish list in amazon.com is "The Heart of Yoga " by T.K.V Desikachar. Check out the reviews for this book also on Amazon.

Note: B.K.S Iyengar and Desikachar are both disciples of the great yogi Krishnamachar. Desikachar also happens to be the son of Krishnamachar.

IMHO, this is the best book on yogasanas:

for me,the most authentic is ,“the hatha yoga pradipika” but the best book of hatha yoga exposition, i think is, “asana pranayam mudraa and bandha” from satyananda saraswati.
All of them different, as you would expect huh?
