Training/expelling prana after practice

Hi,

Lahiri Mahasaya has said to not do prana depleting activities close to practice. AYP advices that it is ok after sitting practice, but I think it is better to even minimize any ‘prana-heavy’ activities after practice.

If you ask me, it is advised against to go into training after any sitting practice in other Kriya systems too. Albeit, the practice of ‘par avashta’ is simply to abide(passive awareness) in the result after the practice mostly. And this may be what Lahiri Mahasaya intended, but now I’m playing devils advocate.

The dilemma:
training after practice, or to wait or perhaps separate gross activities from the subtle ones of sitting practices?

Note that I would wish to do high intensity exercise in the mornings adjunct to practice, but then I reminded myself of this.

Hi Wil,

Yes, it is good to spend some time after meditation finishes abiding in the state that has been cultivated during meditation. This is referred to as the rest period. How long you choose to remain in this state is up to you. Then, if you want to go lift weights, that is fine.
