Hi all,
Over the weekend we held an online AYP retreat looking at the topic of mudras and bandhas, as well as the Nectar Cycle and the production of amrita. We focussed on the writings of a yogi called Swatmarama who lived around 500 years ago and composed a Sanskrit text called the Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā. It is considered one of the most complete early texts on Hatha Yoga and covers a lot of topics. It is one of the few early texts that describes the nectar cycle from the beginnings in the pelvic region (vajroli) to the manipura chakra and finally to the production of amrita in the head.
A very good translation and commentary is available on Amazon here by a lady called Swami Muktibodhananda from Australia.
