Samyama post realization as means of guidance?

I feel that I’m at a reasonably high level of realization (experience no separation) but I am seeking guidance in other areas of life, namely publishing my books.

I felt guided to do samyama. When I do, I feel like the world breaks down, I die into reality and bliss gushes out everywhere. There’s some union with God.

I also felt guided to post here to seek for more insights and wisdom.

Hi Paradox

Thanks for sharing. This is the real purpose of Samyama practice. Not to realise personal desires but to experience liberation and divine unity.

I am sure your book publishing will evolve just the way it is supposed to. Wishing you all the best with it!

Beautiful, thanks for sharing. If you are dissolving and blissing your wisdom is in the surrendering and witnessing, and then radiating in the presence of family, friends, community. :pray:t2:

Yes, that is why I am doing it, not for personal gain.

Some of my books are about mental health and I want to spread awareness about this issue, it’s been very confusing in the publishing space and I’ve spent a lot of effort there. So I hope this practice can help me move forwards.

Hi Paradox,

Stillness wants to move, and samyama helps facilitate the flow of stillness into action as an outpouring of divine love.

On the relationship with writing and publishing (plenty of that has happened here), you might find this AYP lesson interesting: AYP Lesson 395 - The Power of the Pen, and the Keyboard

Go for it, and all the best!

Yes I have experienced that. I read the book on samyama and I do feel divine bliss etc. But there has yet to be any concrete direction.

I wrote my first book about a decade ago but I received many rejections, so I prayed for a way to move forwards.

It’s a very long story so I am just summarizing it for the forum.

Hi Paradox,

The majority of publishers are only interested in money. It is a waste of time for an unknown author, and even some known ones, to work with publishers, especially in this age of modern technology that has leveled the publishing playing field for authors’ access.

You can reach a worldwide audience with your books with a small effort and at no cost by going through Amazon KDP. They offer Kindle ebooks (easy to set up), print on demand paperbacks and hardbacks (no cost to set up and operate), and audiobooks (through ACX/Audible). All of these are leading channels in many countries.

Perhaps you are familiar with KDP already and have reasons for not using them. There are other channels for small publishers, but KDP is the biggest. If you do not have access to KDP where you are, it is suggested to try other self publishing ebook channels to get started. Google Publishing may be an option. Going with the biggest most established channel(s) you can access is recommended.

Publishing discussions can go on forever, and getting into details is not appropriate for this forum. Suffice to say, as a beginning author more than 20 years ago, I tried the traditional publishing approach, found it to be unsatisfactory for AYP needs, and moved into publishing through internet channels. If I had not, there would be no AYP today. So whatever next steps are for you to get your writings out there where readers can benefit, it is suggested to take them.

Good luck!

The guru is in you.

If I want to do something such as help an old lady cross the road, that is a personal desire. If I want to publish a book to help people with mental illnesses or to raise awareness about mental illness, then that is a personal desire. I can release that desire into silence completely. This is Samyama. And then what happens will be according to the divine flow, not according to my desire. The book might get published, or it might not get published. When there is complete surrender, whatever happens is fine. There is no holding onto any desired result, and no suffering or disappointment, whatever the outcome is. There is also no pride, or sense of success or achievement, whatever the outcome is. So, we can act with love and compassion, and do what we can to help in the world, but after that it is all out of our hands. It was never really in our hands in the first place. It just appeared to be.

@yogani Not all traditional publishing is like that, but most of it. I more or less agree with your assessment. The summary from my 200+ rejections is “your book reads like a bestseller, but we are not going to take a chance on you”

I have been traditionally published in small presses.

All 36 of my books are on KDP already. I’ve been researching this for years.

I turn to methods like samyama because of the advice I’ve been given, and because I received a strong intuition years ago that God wishes my book to be published. I want to know which is the best road to take.

@Christi I get your point, but I can’t 100% agree with it. It took me 8 months to write the first book with much pain and tears, but I did so because I believe the story can benefit the world. I’m still here doing what I can 10 years later because of my strong belief in it.

The person who introduced me to the forum (Nadayogi) does say that samyama can help with the relative world, as long as your desire is for the good of all.

Hi Paradox

Certainly Samyama can help with things in the world, but only if we are not attached to the results. If we are attached to the results that can lead to suffering instead of liberation.

If we can practice Samyama with no attachment to the results, what happens may not be what we expected, but people may benefit all over the world in ways that we may never have imagined. Just one person who is truly free (unattached to all outcomes) can touch millions of lives.

Yes this is what I am endeavoring to cultivate. Are there any tips, or I just continue practicing as outlined in the book?

I do experience bliss and a sense of power, as the book says.

Hi Taian,
it is a pleasure to have you here, my only advise to you is to keep writing. Fame and fortune can be given to you in time but can never be acquired. Lots of famous people only aquired fame long after their death.
Actuality often show us that fame readily turn into infamy, so be patient and good things will come to you in due time.
I’m not saying that you are looking for fame and fortune, but in any case I wish that you get what you need.
You are talented and courageous, not many guys would sign songs by Céline Dion.
And sorry I cannot give you advice on book publication, but I will have a look at your books.
Best of luck to you.

Hi Paradox,

Just continue practising. If you want, during your unstructured Samyama practice time, immediately following, or outside of regular practice, you could take the faintest feeling of your desire to help people in the world and use that as a sutra, releasing it into silence roughly every 15 seconds or so.

@alain I see someone has been watching my Youtube channel haha!

I don’t desire fame and fortune. If I had it, it would be to use in a greater capacity by helping. I don’t deny that I could use a little more disposable income, but only insofar as it helps with life, I don’t desire it for itself.

I feel God telling me to relax and have more fun in prayer, so I shall do that with my samyama.
