Hi all,
We are currently developing a dedicated AYP meditation timer app for iPhone and Android devices. It is being designed specifically to support AYP practices and to make it easier for practitioners around the world to establish and maintain a consistent daily routine.
The app is planned to include a world map where users who choose to share their location can see other practitioners who have also opted-in to sharing. An optional direct messaging feature will allow users to connect privately if they wish.
It will also maintain a personal history of changes to each user’s practice routine, making it easy to look back and see when new practices were added, or removed, or when practice timings were adjusted.
Another planned feature is group practice. Users will be able to create practice groups, invite others to join, or search for existing groups and request membership. The regular AYP global group meditations that already take place on weekends will be integrated into the app, allowing participants who take part to follow the same meditation timer together.
To support safe and gradual progress, the app will include built-in safety guidance based on the AYP lessons. If someone attempts to add new practices more quickly than recommended, a warning card will be displayed. Users will always remain free to make their own choices, but the guidance will help practitioners make informed decisions about self-pacing.
To begin with the app will be available in English and German. We are hoping to be able to add more languages over time.
Right now we don’t have a launch date as the app is still being developed. When it becomes available I will put an announcement here and also in one of the monthly newsletters.
We are excited about this new addition to the AYP resources and hope it will become a valuable tool for practitioners everywhere. The app is intended to be free for anyone in the world who wishes to use it.
