My prayer has been answered!

Sometime last year, or perhaps the year prior, I went through some pretty unpleasant kundalini overload symptoms. Nothing feels quite so unfair - nevermind the physical pain - as trying your best and feeling worse than before you made any effort. Why should I be punished for striving toward enlightenment?

Anyway, at the height of my despair I made a prayer:

“Let me make progress as fast as possible without it coming to this.”

I had long since forgotten about the prayer. After all, you really have to go to extremes to suffer overload symptoms for more than a couple of weeks; unless of course you mess with the crown before you’re ready - that was another episode entirely :skull_and_crossbones:

But things have smoothed out considerably now, with very occasional overload symptoms that barely last an hour at the most.

It’s only this past year when I’ve really noticed how I’ve been able to increase my practices smoothly simply by following my intuition. I didn’t think I was ready for Bastrika and yet when intuition said ‘go’, I went, and it’s been smooth sailing all the way. The same thing happened more recently with cosmic Samyama. I was particularly afraid of interactinf with the crown but again, intution said ‘go’, and I went!

What’s more remarkable to me is that I’ve been able to fine tune my practices day to day without any negative consequences. For example, I sometimes know not to go into Siddhasana and sometimes I know to do a few extra rounds of Kumbhaka.

I feel blessed

Hi George,

Great to hear that things are working out well!

When we start to be conscious of what is happening in our practices and are fine tuning the self-pacing every day, according to our experiences, then it does become possible to do more. We can always cut back if needed.

That’s good news, it shows that the guru is in you. Also you learned to self pace while while practicing, a really valuablle skill.
