Hi Israel,
Yogani discovered the I AM mantra. It is used because of its specific vibrational quality. It purifies the central channel, the sushumna nadi.
The full AYP mantra is SHREE OM SHREE OM AYAM AYAM NAMAH NAMAH. Each syllable in the mantra purifies a different aspect of the human subtle body.
