We are planning to make the AYP Teacher Training available through the AYP Academy as a series of online video courses. The courses that are currently available on the AYP Academy will all form part of the training, and we will be adding additional video courses over the next 12 months that will focus more on the teaching aspect of AYP. People taking the training will need to teach a number of assessed classes and complete two exams (one written and one oral) in addition to completing the video courses. The training will lead to the certification of CYT (Certified Yoga Teacher).
If all goes well, the full AYP Teacher Training Course should be available online by April 2027.
Anyone who has already taken any of the online video courses that are on the AYP Academy, who wishes to go on to get an AYP teaching certificate, will not need to take the courses again. The courses they have already taken will count as credits towards the teaching certification. This will mean the cost of taking the Teacher Training will be reduced.
The following courses will be compulsory as part of the Teacher Training:

• Spinal Breathing Pranayama
• Deep Meditation
• AYP Pranayamas
• Samyama
• Self-Inquiry
• 84 Asanas
• The History of Yoga
• Teaching AYP
Note: The last three courses in the list are not available yet as they are still being produced.
The hope is that making the training available online in this way will help to make the training available to more people around the world.
