Looking for Support, Kundalini Awakening Experience

Sent an email to Yogani and he encouraged me to post, so I decided to do so.

I had my first taste of ecstatic bliss 11 years ago in 2015 after about 2 to 3 weeks of doing the AYP practices.

I have gone on and off the practices at different times, but I was having a hugely transformational experience about a month ago and felt a huge calling into the yogic practices, extending into learning about hinduism, etc.

What has been going on is almost entirely limited to a 20 minute practice, 5 minutes of pranayama and 15 of deep meditation, twice per day.

I have easily been having kundalini energy coming up for the past month maybe once or twice in the practices, it felt very sudden, intense and pleasurable.

These past few days, it’s moving into a whole different level of experience.

I felt maybe 5 or 6 days ago that I was automatically starting to get pulled into mulabandha (sp?) during breathing and started to feel a more intense level of energy inside throughout.

2-3 days ago, I added Sambhavi and it was like my entire being was being pulled into the heavens.

I am now having these huge waves of orgasmic pleasure that are coming through my entire body during the practice.

It’s like I can feel the entirety of my body from perineum to the third eye are a like.. pure energy.

Now, during the practice, my entire body is jerking around. I can feel something way beyond twisting my neck, my lower back, my hips. It’s jerking and twitching, while me, myself, am in a state of enrapture in Sambhavi.

Forgive me for not knowing the terms well, but I am going into the full chin pumping, the faster paced almost pant-like breathing and the mulabandha without being in control of any of it. I, the me that is observing, is just a witness and in total surrender to the energy that is coming up. I hope this all makes sense.

What’s also happening is I can feel different parts of my cranium are pulsating, it’s almost like the energy is directing me to pulsate parts of my head, I had no idea it was even possible to feel those things or do that. I also started to pull my tongue back, I had to look up why and found it’s called kechari. I can feel my body wanting to realize huge amounts of tension through my lower jaw and root of the tongue, and just all around, in order to push further back.

Again, it’s not ME doing this, it’s like I am in a state of pure ecstasy in waves in total backseat to this.

I am coming out of this 20 minutes feeling quite incredible, but I wanted to share because I think it’s quite intense and there’s a huge part of me that is screaming, “This is what you have been waiting for for your entire life, this is the moment” in a very, I can’t even explain it well, it’s like a KNOWING that this is what I need to do, but I also feel quite solitary in the experience and wanted to share.

Small update Definitely took this too far, had some sleeping issues yesterday due to the feeling of “being pulled” into Sambhava and my body wanting to get the energy going. Any tips for me?

Anyway, thanks for reading and lemme know your thoughts,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

All sounds wonderful :joy: .

If it’s too much at any time there are two things to consider-

1 - grounding

2 - self pacing

To much of this kind of thing can cause us to ‘overload’, this means that too much prana is flowing and burning the nervous system, meaning that practices will eventually have to stop altogether due to the discomfort it causes.

Grounding walks, swimming, working in the garden, doing chores etc these are all very good things to ground.

Self pacing means to shorten your practice for a time, might be worth checking out the lessons on this or asking the Ai as it can become a bit of a fine art.

These symptoms tend to come and go, so just enjoy them whilst they are happening, let them fill you with Bhakti but be mindful not to get attached. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!

All the best,

Tom

Thanks a lot for the tips. I appreciate it, I think I definitely need to slow it down and do a lot more grounding. I also need to focus on the meditation a lot more.

Welcome Jonathan. What is happening is your neurobiology has become ripe for conductivity, a milestone yes, and now comes the time to ground daily and practice radiance/surrender. Once one can access bliss being quiet and open, yogis need not cling to any particular experience, need not influence or charge or change any particular state or experience, simply return to the mantra, witness, and surrender, until it is time to end.

Scenery changes over meditation time, yet each is a gift to be appreciated and released as bird song,

I wanted to add, you may have trouble in the beginning dropping off to sleep, because that is a time when you are naturally quiet and open. I did find comfort in the practice of Cosmic Samyama, and later graduated to a sleep mantra (I am rested this body is resting) which I use to this day whenever sleep temporarily escapes me. If one does not cling to an aroused state, it becomes easier to dissolve into it.

So my understanding here is that I should almost not even “enjoy” the feeling that is radiating through my body. Just notice and let it go. Is that right? I am having a hard time not chasing it these few days.

This is such a wild experience - I never realized meditation was going to turn into such incredible bliss!

Enjoy, yes!, witness yourself in enjoyment, and if you are off the mantra, simply return to it. Enjoyment is your Bhakti that will keep you disciplined to twice daily sitting. Bliss is not the goal but a byproduct of practice.

Enjoy but don’t chase it:slightly_smiling_face:
