I’ve recently got into the habit of sitting under trees and resting for a while - maybe ten or twenty minutes.
When I do this, I feel a distinct change in my energy that’s hard to put into words, but it’s a pleasant sensation, similar to being in the presence of a loved one.
What exactly is going on here? How does this affect practice? Is the tree helping to ground my energy, or is it enhacing the purification process?
Sitting amongst trees is both grounding and purifying. There is a grounding effect that happens, where energy becomes more stabilised, but trees also contain prana, and this has the effect of purifying the subtle nervous system. This is why spending time in nature is both stabilizing and uplifting.
Trees are also conscious. They know you are there, and this is the loving presence that you can feel.
