DIY Retreat

Hey Guys,

I organised a mini AYP style retreat earlier on in the year, and it went really well so i thought id share a bit of info on it in order to encourage others to do the same if they wanted too.

If you have any questions on matters i have missed out please fell free to ask.

Here is the link to the short piece i wrote on it:

I hope this is of use!

All the love!

Wow Tom, what an adventure, and good thing the weather cooperated so you could enjoy the countryside. If this were in my neck of the world I would be there in a flash. Congratulations on your discipline to organize this gathering.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for the blog post, sounds like a great experience! A couple of us German AYPers also did a DIY retreat this year in May in it also went really well

We were 7 total participants, one of which provided the accommodation. We also do meditations together online from time to time and we’re always happy to grow!

For us, none of us was ‘the leader’ either, so we replaced the usual evening talks by more open discussion rounds or by bhajans.
Overall it was a really great opportunity to go deeper in meditation, but also to enjoy spiritual community in a way I only very rarely do.

Hi Adrian,

Glad to hear others are already doing the same, it just makes so much sense! And with the AYP community is so easy to gather participants.
Always a great idea to make any excuse to meet up with like minded people whenever possible, retreats make it a really special little shared experience

Thanks for the reply, maybe one day we’ll do an exchange

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Tom,

It’s great to hear the retreat went well! I met a couple of the participants from your DIY retreat on another retreat in the UK in June, and they both remarked on how much they enjoyed it. It’s an inspiring story and shows what can be achieved on a budget with some thought and planning. Well done on getting it together and thanks for sharing how you did it.

Love,

Alex

Hi Tom,
I’d be happy to do a little exchange at some point!
One thing we could also try is doing a community online retreat for a weekend at some point, if Tristan doesn’t offer any. That would give people from the UK, Germany and anywhere else the opportunity to join.

Best regards
Adrian
