How important are asanas to my practices, and what can they add?
In the western world, many people equate Yoga with postures, also known as “Asanas.” While asanas can do a lot of good, they are only one part of yoga (one limb out of eight). In AYP, easy meditation is considered a more accessible and effective place for the beginner to start.
In AYP we use asanas as a limbering, a stretching of the nervous system to warm up for pranayama and deep meditation.
