Hi MB,
Started the book and simply cannot put it down! It is very detailed, and I very much appreciate that. For a while I stared at the picture on the front cover, unable to grasp the familiarity - until it hit me that that is exactly what I see in Yoni Mudra Kumbhaka!
At the time I started reading Ennio Nimmis’ book, I was at a fever pitch of longing for the guru, having been exposed to Babaji a few weeks prior. It was nothing I had ever experienced - I could not sleep or eat or do much. I felt frozen, firmly turned inward, with not much to do with the external world at all - conversations, discussions, thoughts, emotions, everything seemed to bounce off a solid wall I seemed to have built around myself. Within which were just me, Krishna and Babaji. My dreams at night were about the guru, my thoughts during the day about the guru, and my heart was firmly fixed on the guru…
I have no idea how I was led to this book - probably searching for more on Babaji… When I was reading this author’s account of finding the guru within, I was severely shaken out of my reverie - for it is so similar to my own path. Very quietly, that great longing turned “on its head” and lo and behold - there was the guru! At different times, the guru has taken different forms - Yogani, Easwaran, Tolle, Ramana, Adya, Katrine, Carson, Parallax, Jeff, Chas, Kirtanman, Anthem, Karl, Mr Anderson, Cosmic, Bodhi Tree, Christi, Shanti, AumNaturel, etc etc… And of course, my dear Babaji… And my Beloved, Krishna. They are all within. What Yogani has been saying all along, of course… But, as with everything in life, direct experience, (that crucial “a-ha!”) is the only thing that matters. Until then, they are just concepts. This, for me, was the greatest lesson in this book.
The nuances of techniques in this book are also absolutely fantastic. Making minor changes to existing techniques does make a huge difference. For example, for more than two years now, I’ve constantly heard a reverberating “Om”, that intensifies during sitting practices. I’ve ignored it in favor of the mantra. However, just letting it be, and merging with the sound of the Om is sublime, blissful, and effortlessly drags awareness into samadhi/void (loss of all perception). Also, adding just Navi Kriya intensifies the “going within” of pranayama… Very beautiful!
Thanks for starting this thread. Do you practice any of the techniques in these books? Would love to hear your experiences.
Love,
kami
