Precognitive Dreams

I’ve had several dreams unfold in shocking detail over the course of the last seven years or so, so I’m no stranger to this. However, something lined up unexpectedly last weekend that might be the most unbelievable one to date. I feel I’m in the presence of something much, much greater than myself and I’ll admit to feeling, let’s say, humbled and a bit afraid. Like I’m not alone. I asked the AYP ai helper about dreams:

“In the yogic scriptures, precognitive dreams are considered siddhis—super-normal powers or spiritual gifts that naturally occur as by-products of nervous system purification. The sources point out that experiencing a dream that physically comes true serves an evolutionary purpose: it forces you to reevaluate your current perception of time (past, present, and future) and your connection to the universe. By showing you that physical reality is deeply interconnected with your inner awareness, these detailed dreams act as a profound prompt to nudge you away from identifying with your limited “false self” (the ego) so that you can begin to discover your true, universal Self”

This feels correct, but I’m still at a loss and a bit shaken. And this is all on the heels of running into my spiritual mother in the woods again on a recent trip. My instincts say to accept it all without much notice (too late, I’m noticing) and continue to act normally. The ordinary is now the test itself. Don’t make a big deal about it. Wake up, go to work, go to yoga, cook dinner, work on my art, love others. If I can pull off my daily life in the face of how compelling all this is (or without fretting too much), it’ll be alright. The task is to keep dancing and don’t let this “greater thing” make me lose my groove.

I hope this makes sense. I don’t feel insane, and nobody around me is concerned for me. In fact, quite the oposite: everybody close to me keeps saying how happy they are to see me doing so well. I’m just a bit dumfounded, and I guess maybe afraid. Have I been here before? Is my fate set in stone? What of my fears and desires during this process?

Always grateful to hear from others.

With love,

-David

Awakening - to whatever degree - is always both amazing and scary. Perception changes and suddenly, life (and you) are much more than you previously believed. From what you have shared lately, it does seem that you are being called to “wake up!”. I would encourage that you start a consistent, daily meditation practice to further foster these openings and spiritual transformation.

Welcome to the world where you have to cross-check every now and again - am I still sane? I have a psychologist friend just for that

Much love

Sey

I’ve been dealing with a lot of the same things this year, and I haven’t really been able to talk to anyone about it either. I do think it’s probably more common than we realize, though. People just don’t tend to talk about these experiences. Anything that feels different or unfamiliar can easily be met with criticism or rejection.

I don’t think my close friends and family would necessarily appreciate knowing about some of the things I’ve experienced in relation to them, so I’ve mostly kept it to myself.

For me, as you describe, it has changed my whole perception — the way I think about time, people, their energetic fields, and life itself. I’ve become much more aware of how easily I seem to pick up things from other people.

What has helped me is realizing that whatever this “information” is, it exists whether I notice it or not. I don’t necessarily have to do anything with it, interpret it, or attach meaning to it. It’s simply there. That has helped me take a step back from it.

And I really relate to what you said about continuing with ordinary life. perhaps staying grounded in those simple things is actually one of the most important parts of the process.

I don’t have any answers about what these experiences ultimately mean, but I just wanted to say that you’re definitely not alone in having experiences that can be difficult to make sense of. I’m also trying to learn how to notice them without letting them take over my attention or sense of everyday reality.

Much love.
