Through out the centuries, many people have been on a search for the
true path. Some have found it, but strangely enough, each one has been
different than the other. The good news is, there is no one right path to
enlightenment. The bad news is, there is no one right path to enlightenment.
Even in Yoga, the paths are varied. Yoga is not one path, it is many paths
that are related with the same ultimate goal.
The ego is the part of us that is particularly engaged and fascinated
with being “right.” The ego gets very slippery, and even more crafty as we
advance along the spiritual path. I have heard it said that spiritual ego is
the most difficult type of ego to conquer. The beginner’s mind is so very
important, especially for those who feel they are advanced along a spiritual
path.
I offer up this request to list members… keep an open mind. You may
not agree with what someone else believes, but that does not mean you are
right. What you believe to be true may be absolutely true for you, but it
is not for anyone else to say what the right path is for someone else. As
much as we can frame things in terms of “This works for me,” or This is what
so-and -so believes," instead of “This is the right way, and this is the
wrong way,” we move away from polarizing and dualism, which was our original
separation from divinity in the first place.
In terms of e-group etiquette, it is up to Yogani to determine is something
is off topic or not. Let us release that job to the person who started this
forum. Thank you Yogani.
in Loving Kindness,
