Hi,
To me your experience sounds as if you are experiencing equivalents of what is called the withness, the unshakable silence in Yonagi’s terms. If this is so, this condition(mindset, place) will become your shelter, … and eventually you will able go in and out of it at will, spending more and more time in it. This will be your learning tool as well, from there you can compare… and therefore learn…
…something like this
very beautiful.

Hi Etherfish:
indeed you have and
your best option is to dress in light
‘Dare to know’
Hi Shweta,
Neither it was me when i posted the things i “saw”…
But i was surprised by similarity of the contents of my experiences and those which were mentioned by Richard… in your accout i also find content very, very similar to what i have experienced…
… so similar to my expereince … i was facing west, i do not know much anyone of the praticipants, but i have the distinct experience of being able to feel their presence, we sit in a circle; some of us have shape and form others are just balls of brilliant light … in my previous post i have tryed to put in words the “images” i saw …
i had an opening very similar to yours - an unexpected activation of the heart chakra, this extatic, sweet, blissful, undoing feeling of unconditional love…
…i am not good in visualizing as well and the usual content of my mind does not contain images, or i am not aware of them, and i suppose it is because of this, i get this rather blurred visual experiences…
Do you really think it is foolish?
Certainly, it does not comply with the world view that was imposed on you, but this does not mean your expereinces are false or wrong… was it a bad experience for you?, i think not… what keeps us back is the fear of the endless, formless, that is behind our small I’s …
yes, lets try it again…
eventually we will know that is the truth…

Remember the lessons…if these things are experienced don’t dwell on them. Value the practice, not the effect.

Hi Scott and thanks for the remainder.
What makes you think long distance group meditation can
harm the sitting practices or for that matter our progress ?
see what David said:
and Near
Can you see something wrong?
I think this type of experiences can be helpful in terms of bhakti.
There is just one thing you need - inner silence and we all know it comes from sitting practices

Elldibor,
“Why makes you think long distance group meditation can
harm the sitting practices or for that matter our progress ?”
I didn’t say that. I said not to focus on experiences but just to favor the practice. This is a major part of AYP deep meditation. In fact I think all of us meditating at the same time is a great idea, and a good thing. It can’t harm our sitting practices or our progress.
“I think this type of experiences can be helpful in terms of bhakti.”
I don’t know. Bhakti is our desire for the ever-present goal…enlightenment. If these experiences are not the enlightenment, then if we have strong bhakti we should forget about whatever experiences may come and favor the practice itself. Of course, we can talk about the experiences, but it should be clear that they are not the goal.
It seems like when people get these experiences, their bhakti momentarily dies. They stop caring about the goal, and only care about this new interesting state of mind. So I don’t think experiences are helpful in terms of bhakti, but rather, they can be harmful if focused on.
To put it simply: find out why you’re doing the practice and never forget why.

By the way, Yogani posted this in another thread…

AYAM 2
Hi all,
Joined everybody at 8.45 pm, IST. This one was short and deep. There was a difference. Still hazy…though I rested quite a bit.
The Group sessions are always in ADDITION to the twice a day norms; is that right?
Hi Sadhak,
Not for me, the group meditation replaced my morning session. I can only do 2 sessions a day at the moment, if I did much more I would probably go over.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for a wonderful meditation.
Even pranayama started out with a very gentle and loving energy. I was truly surprised by the intensity of the group meditation, wave after increasing wave of ecstatic and blissful energy. I even went past my usual 15 minute limit and was glad I did as the last wave reached the highest intensity. Very enjoyable and unexpected. Rested longer to help prevent over doing symptoms, hopefully I will not pay too high a price for going over!
Looking forward to the next time, will make it whenever I can!

Wow that was a deep one. I crashed right out this time, came out of it after about 40 Min’s and did my Samyama. Very deep session I havent crashed out like that for ages
RICHARD
Hi All
Deep and with intense energy for me…
since Scott belives that experiences can be harmful:
i will practice respect to his belifs and not share them openly
For those who like Yogani think, it is not a big deal:

As for the open discussions on experiences, it’s sort of like democracy, you know … sometimes messy, but much better than the alternative. Some of us old timers have seen the alternative, living under hierarchies that prohibit discussions on experiences, and it does not work.

i am ready to share the experiences of this session off the forum in pm.
‘Dare to know’
Thanks again all of you for sharing your meditation with me.
Thanks for joining us Sadhak… and yes, you are right, Yogani does say that, group meditation does not count as your normal twice a day routine. But like Andrew said, if you cannot handle more than 2 sessions, make this one (in your case) the second session.
In lesson#37 Yogani says…
Thanks Andrew for joining us. I too had to rest much longer today, I think I actually fell asleep for a few mins…
Richard… I am with you this time… I too “crashed right out”.
This group thing does boost your meditation. This was my second session for the morning… and the first was just my regular meditation… but this one just took me in real deep… I am not sure where I was… lost somewhere…
Elldibor, we would love to hear your experiences. Please do share it with us.
Elldibor, you misunderstood me. Post whatever you want! Tell about your experiences.
-Scott
I do this as my afternoon meditation session 4.15pm is not to faraway from my time anyway.
I’m not sure that Yogani meant this sort of group meditation this is more just us meditating at the same time as opposed to a group of people gathered in a room meditating together there is a subtle difference there. I couldn’t take more anyway I think I would overload
RICHARD
Yes. He’s talking about in-person groups. If you’re just doing your same-old practice the same-old way, but concurrently with others elsewhere, I’d STRONGLY suggest counting it as one of your two daily sessions.
